A beautifully preserved example of Tudor’s early automatic heritage, this Tudor Oyster-Prince Ref. 7954 embodies the spirit of mid-century Swiss watchmaking. Produced in the late 1950s, the reference 7954 was among the first to feature Tudor’s self-winding Caliber 390 movement, housed within a robust Rolex-manufactured ''Oyster'' case.
The silver sunburst dial, adorned with the elegant Tudor rose emblem, reflects a timeless minimalist design, complemented by sharp dagger-style indices and dauphine hands. Its Rolex-signed screw-down crown and Oyster case construction provide the durability and precision that made Tudor a trusted companion for professionals of the era.
The watch has been paired with a new quality vintage style soft and supple leather strap and a very distinctive Tudor buckle to complete the look. When new, the watch would have been sold with a bracelet however these are notoriously flimsy (and with age will not have improved) especially when compared with modern day editions. Therefore in our experience most of our clients prefer the leather strap for everyday use and with the beautiful matching Tudor buckle we confidently suggest this is the best option.
The Tudor Oyster-Prince 7954 represents a golden age of design—when Tudor shared Rolex’s engineering excellence but expressed its own quiet elegance through distinctive details like the Tudor rose. This model offers an ideal balance of heritage, reliability, and understated charm, making it a cornerstone in any serious vintage collection.
