STONEBRIDGE WATCHES SAYS...

This beautiful vintage Omega Genève Automatic Date, reference 166.070, dates to approximately 1969 and is a particularly attractive example of Omega's classic late 1960s watchmaking. With its elegant silver dial, polished stainless steel case and vintage Omega-branded stainless steel bracelet, this is a wonderfully understated timepiece that combines timeless styling with the quality and heritage for which Omega is renowned.
The silver dial is beautifully presented, featuring applied baton hour markers, elegant matching hands and a neatly positioned date window at 3 o'clock. The classic Omega logo sits proudly beneath the 12 o'clock position, with the Genève signature completing the wonderfully balanced design. The simplicity of the dial gives the watch a particularly refined appearance, making it equally suitable for formal occasions or everyday wear.
The stainless steel case measures a very comfortable 35mm excluding the crown, an ideal size for those who appreciate the elegant proportions of traditional vintage watches. The case remains in excellent vintage condition, displaying only minor signs of age and careful previous use. Its polished surfaces complement the silver dial beautifully, while the gently curved lugs ensure a comfortable fit on the wrist.
Inside beats the highly regarded Omega Calibre 565, a 24-jewel automatic mechanical movement widely admired for its reliability, quality of construction and convenient quickset date function. This particular movement is performing exceptionally well for its age, having demonstrated an accuracy of approximately +5 seconds per day when tested. An impressive result for a mechanical timepiece more than half a century old, although some variation should naturally be expected during everyday wear.
An especially appealing feature of this example is its vintage Omega stainless steel bracelet, complete with Omega-signed clasp. The bracelet gives the watch a wonderfully authentic period appearance and complements the stainless steel case perfectly. For additional versatility, we are also including an additional leather strap fitted with an Omega-signed buckle, allowing the new owner to enjoy two distinctly different looks. The watch will also be supplied in an Omega travel case, making it a particularly attractive choice for a special occasion or gift.
Overall, this is an exceptionally appealing example of the Omega Genève Automatic Date, combining elegant vintage styling, excellent presentation and a beautifully performing mechanical movement. Whether purchased as a first vintage Omega, a birth-year watch or simply as a timeless addition to a collection, it offers all the charm and character associated with one of Switzerland's most celebrated watchmakers.
A beautifully presented vintage Omega, ready to be enjoyed and appreciated for many years to come.
