Vintage Omega Seamaster Automatic Ref. 165.002 – Rare Red Crosshair Dial
Presented here is a particularly attractive and increasingly hard to source Omega Seamaster Automatic reference 165.002, dating to circa 1965 and featuring the highly desirable and uncommon red crosshair dial configuration.
Whilst crosshair dial Seamaster models are occasionally encountered, examples featuring the subtle red crosshair arrangement are considerably more difficult to find, giving this watch a distinctive character whilst maintaining the understated elegance for which mid-century Omega designs are so highly regarded.
The silver sunburst dial remains in excellent vintage condition with crisp printing, applied hour markers and beautifully balanced proportions, paired perfectly with the slim stainless steel case and classic no-date layout. The watch is powered by the superb Omega calibre 552 automatic movement, one of Omega’s most respected in-house movements of the era, currently performing at under 5 seconds deviation per day — an outstanding result for a watch approaching sixty years of age.
The watch has been fitted to a brand new brown leather strap which we feel complements the warmth and vintage aesthetic of the piece exceptionally well, finished with an Omega signed buckle for a refined and cohesive presentation. For clients preferring a more traditional appearance, a black leather strap will also be included with the watch.
Completing the package, the watch will be supplied with an Omega travel case.
