The Seiko Skyliner Ref. 6220-9970 is one of those vintage Seiko references that quietly impresses. Produced during the mid-1960s, it combines elegant proportions, sharp case design and a beautifully restrained dial layout that has led many enthusiasts to draw comparisons with the styling language seen in early King Seiko and Grand Seiko models. Its clean silver sunburst dial, faceted applied hour markers and slender dauphine hands create a timeless aesthetic that feels every bit as relevant today as it did nearly sixty years ago.
This particular example presents in very good vintage condition and remains a highly attractive watch on the wrist. The silver sunburst dial catches the light beautifully, while the polished stainless steel case retains its crisp angular lug profile. Power comes from Seiko's reliable Calibre 6220 hand-wound movement, featuring 21 jewels and Diashock shock protection. Measuring approximately 36.5mm across, the Skyliner offers a wonderfully balanced vintage wearing experience that remains perfectly suited to modern tastes.
