Tudor (Montres Tudor SA) is a sister brand to Rolex and established in 1946 by Hans Wilsdorf. During this period (1959 to 1964) Tudor watches were built using Rolex cases, crowns and casebacks, made evident here with the engraving "Original Oyster Case by Rolex Geneva".

The Oyster Prince was first introduced in 1952, this reference 7964 belongs to the second generation of these watches. The size and prominence (pre-dating the Tudor shield logo) of the rose led to it's nickname ''Big Rose''.

Since starting Stonebridge Watches we have wanted to source and offer a Ref 7964 and patiently waited until we found one suitable. It was well worth the wait. All of the watch is in superb condition and has now also been paired with a striking Tudor signed buckle.

The Tudor Oyster Prince Big Rose Ref. 7964 is a classic, under-the-radar gem in vintage watch collecting. It embodies a time when Tudor was building its own identity under the Rolex umbrella, offering everyday wearability with vintage charm. It’s an excellent entry point into vintage Swiss watches or Tudor’s storied past.
